The Crime Prevention/Community Services Division of the Brentwood Police Department is made up of Officers Colin Lane and Bryan Kirkpatrick. Officers Lane and Kirkpatrick are responsible for the following:
- D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) instructors at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Crime Prevention Specialist’s
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
- Quarterly Women’s Self Defense classes for the public
- C.R.A.S.E.(Citizens Response to Active Shooter Events) Instructors
- Officer Lane and Kirkpatrick are certified Defensive Tactics Instructors
Some of the services the Crime Prevention Division provides include:
- Teaching all D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) classes in all 12 area Brentwood public and private schools
- Assist citizens with starting and maintaining Neighborhood Watch Programs
- Conduct business and residential security surveys ( Video for Home Security Tips)
- Speak to various community groups about crime prevention and personal safety
- Conduct tours of the police department for various groups including Cub Scouts and pre-schools
- Act as liaisons between the police department and schools
- Coordinate and teach Women's Self Defense Training
