Kim Smithson Gawrys and her husband, Steve, are retired small business owners. She was a certified State of Tennessee Life & Health Insurance Instructor.

Personal

Gawrys attended Northside (BMS) and Brentwood High School. She married her husband, Steve, in 1990. The couple has has four children: Trot, married to Hannah, has three children; Sarah-Jane, Zade, and JT.

Community Involvement

Member of CVQA (Cumberland Valley Quilters Association): I served as President twice and as a board member. 

Quilts of Valor: We donate hundreds of quilts annually to veterans and active-duty service men & women. We also donate quilts to Ronald McDonald for their annual fundraiser. Additionally, we donate hundreds of quilts to other charities as well. 

I am a living kidney donor, and ‘Donate Life’ Advocacy Member

Steve and I were foster parents.

School & Youth Involvement (1999–2024): I served for 25 years as a PTO volunteer.

Brentwood Bruins Football & Lacrosse Volunteer (2007–2024)

Barn Mom & IEA (2005–2016) – Supporting young equestrians.
