Join the Historic Commission on February 27th for the annual “Battle of the Minds” Sarah Bayrd American History Bowl, a county-wide competition among Williamson County high school students.

The event is modeled after Jeopardy with a total of four fast-paced rounds, and helps create a greater awareness and love of history by our young people.

When and Where: 

  • Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025
  • 7-9 p.m.
  • Brentwood City Hall Commission Chambers

Anyone is welcome to attend in person during the evening event. Friends and family, perhaps not close to Brentwood, will be able to view the show online on the Brentwood Historic Commission’s Facebook page.  A rebroadcast will also be available in the days following the event on Brentwood TV, which airs on BTV, Comcast Cable Channel 19.

Dan Thomas, WSMV meteorologist and Williamson county resident, will host the 13th annual Sarah Bayrd American History Bowl sponsored by the Brentwood Historic Commission. Dan will bring his wit and energy to this fast paced, lively game show testing the knowledge of students from the Williamson County public high schools.  Chuck Sherrill, former State Librarian, will be the questioner.

Who: 

This is a county-wide competition among Williamson County High Schools. This year there will be eight schools competing.

What:

The History Bowl helps create a greater awareness and love of history by our young people. It is an exciting and fun event featuring a fast paced game with four rounds of history questions in a format similar to popular quiz shows such as Jeopardy.
