About the Department
The Brentwood Public Works Department consists of 24 full-time employees. These men and women are responsible for the maintenance and repair of much of the City’s infrastructure. This consists of more than 267 miles of roadway which includes services like maintenance, snow plowing, street sweeping, pavement repairs and resurfacing, pavement markings, street signs, traffic signals, right-of-way mowing, excavation & directional boring permits, and litter pick-up. The department is also responsible for storm water management, monthly residential brush collection at more than 14,500 addresses, fleet maintenance, spring & fall cleanup, and the Adopt-A-Mile program. All off this takes place across approximately 42 square miles, although the City continues to grow. The employees are flexible and versatile and must be able to routinely respond to any type of emergency. The 24 Public Work employees are only a small sampling of the talent and dedicated folks employed by the City of Brentwood.
