Decorative or Security Lighting

Having a security light go out in the city, in your neighborhood or on your street can be frustrating.

The electric service providers for our area are responsible for the installation and upkeep of those lights. The street lights are serviced by Middle Tennessee Electric or Nashville Electric, depending on where you live in the city.

Here is how you can determine which electric provider services the address you are concerned about:

  1. Click this link:  Brentwood Utility District Map
  2. Enter the address where the light is out. You can even just put the street name.
  3. Look at the bottom of the page that the map is on and find the Legend and Layer List, it will look like this:
  4. Left icon- Blue is the Legend and the Right icon- Green is the Layer List.  Click on the Green icon and then uncheck the Utility Districts (this will tell you the water/sewer provider for the address you enter at the top of the map.). Click the Electric Company Districts, then click the X and close the Layer List.
  5. Now click the Left blue icon, this is the legend and will distinguish MTE from NES with different colors.
  6. The address that you are searching for will show up as a dot with a halo around it in the appropriate electric district.

Now that you know which electric district is responsible for the maintenance for the light needs to be repaired or replaced, please use the appropriate link below to make a service request.

Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) / 877.777.9020

Nashville Electric Service (NES) / no phone no. listed

Please note:  The appropriate electric company is responsible and will make those repairs/replacements as timely as possible.  The City does not have control over their work timeline.  Unfortunately we can not escalate any issue to make a repair go any faster.
