Notices are sent to alert patrons to the following actions:

• Registration renewal notices are 30 days prior to your library card’s expiration date.
• Items have been checked out to or returned from your account. Return notices are only sent when items are returned through our outside book drop.
• An item you have placed on hold is available for pick-up.
• Items on your account have been automatically renewed.
• Items on your account are almost due.
• An item you have returned is missing a part.
• When fines/fees are applied to your account

4 Notices will be sent out for overdue items.

• 1^st notice is sent when the item is past due 7 days.
• 2^nd notice is sent when the item is past due 14 days.
• 3^rd notice is sent when the item is past due 21 days
• After 28 days the item is deemed lost and you will be billed for the replacement cost.
• We work with Unique Collection Agency.

Notices may be sent via e-mail or text.

• You set your preferences when you signed up for your library card.
• To make changes to your preferences, sign into your account and under My Record / Contact Information and Preferences, make the desired changes. You may also contact a member of the Circulation staff.
• If you are not receiving notifications, please check the following:
  • Emails – set your spam-blocking software to accept email from librarynotices@brentwood.gov
  • Texts – have you recently changed your telephone number or carrier? If so, please either login to your account or contact a member of the Circulation staff.

CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT!   

• Email and Text messages are courtesy reminders for our patrons. Double check your due dates and holds online, as technical difficulties may prevent your emails or Texts from being sent.
• The absence of a notice will not affect the user’s responsibility to return materials on time and/or pay associated fines.
