Placing Hold Requests

You may place up to 20 hold requests per card. You will be notified when the item becomes available and will have 2 days to pick it up. Please call the Circulation Desk if you need us to hold your item an extra day. Holds may only be checked out on the associated card. Parents may pick up holds for children with a government issued photo ID. If you send someone to pick up a hold for you, that person must have your library card or may present a photo of the barcode.

You may place hold requests:

• By calling 615-371-0090 and pressing 2 for Circulation.
• Speaking with a staff member at the Circulation Desk.
• Online

Placing Hold Requests Online

1. Log into my account and click on the "Search" tab.
2. Search for the item you want (Be careful to verify the format you prefer—book, large print, book on CD, etc.).
3. When you find the correct item, click "Place Hold" at the bottom of the page.
4. Click "Submit Request" and continue until the confirmation message “Your request has been placed” appears at the top of the screen.

Suspending Hold Requests

You may wish to suspend your hold requests before going out of town. This will prevent items you have on hold from becoming available. You will maintain your spot in the queue.

You may suspend your holds:

• By calling 615-371-0090 and pressing 2 for Circulation.
• Speaking with a staff member at the Circulation Desk.
• Online

Suspending Hold Requests Online

1. Log into my account and click on the "Requests" tab.
2. Select the hold requests you would like to suspend. Click "Suspend/Reactivate Selected."
3. Enter the date you want your hold queue to become active again and click "Submit." You will get a confirmation message on the screen that indicates the items suspended and the activation date for each one.

Interlibrary Loan Hold Requests

Place requests by calling the Reference Desk at 615-371-0090 and press 3. Audiovisual items are not available through this service. A $3.00 charge is applied if the filled request is not picked up.
