The City of Brentwood administers water and sanitary sewer services to properties within the City limits and the surrounding area. The City is dedicated to meeting the needs of customers and strives to relay information and service through timely and accurate billings. Billing occurs on a monthly basis. Water and sewer customers are billed on the 21st of the month and are due on the 7th of the next month. Sewer only customers are billed on the 6th of the month and are due on the 20th of the same month.

Paperless billing is now available! The City of Brentwood has partnered with Invoice Cloud to provide electronic billing for water and sewer bills. Click the button below to view and pay your bill. Registration and/or paperless enrollment(instructions here) is optional. Customers already enrolled in bank draft will continue to be drafted by the City.

Office hours: 7:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
All payments received in office prior to 5pm are processed daily.

- Online* - Pay by electronic check, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover. Optionally enroll in paperless billing or Pay by Text. Electronic payments are accepted by Invoice Cloud a 3rd party payment processor (*convenience fee of $3.95 by Credit Card, $2.95 by eCheck).
- By Phone* - (615) 507-2766.
- Automatic bank draft. This requires a completed Bank Draft application and copy of voided check.
- Drop box located to the right of the Municipal Center, next to the Post Office boxes.
A fee of $25.00 will be added to each returned item.

Water Purchase Surcharge - A purchased water cost surcharge shall be added to the base rate if the cost of water purchased by the City from its primary water provider exceeds $2.55 per 1,000 gallons. Effective with bills issued after December 06, 2024, the surcharge shall equal $1.38 per 1,000 gallons.

Metro Wastewater Treatment Surcharge - A wastewater treatment cost surcharge shall be added to the base rate if the cost of sewage treatment billed to and paid by the city exceeds $.83 per 1,000 gallons. Effective with bills issued after October 01, 2024, the Metro Wastewater Treatment surcharge shall equal $1.34 per 1,000 gallons.
** Winter Water Average - The monthly sewer rate charged by the city is based on each customer's average winter water consumption as billed in the months of December through March using the previous rate schedule. For sewer customers who are not water customers of the city, the computation of average winter water consumption is based upon the four-month period that most closely corresponds to that used for other customers. The established rate per 1,000 gallons above the minimum bill is prorated for each 100 gallons consumed.

Within the City of Brentwood, the water and sewer utilities are usually serviced by the City. In some cases, neighboring utility companies may provide a part or all the service. Neighboring utility companies include: Harpeth Valley, Mallory Valley, Franklin, Metro, and Nolensville / College Grove Utility Company.
