Chipper Service Following Sunday Storm

Post Date:05/03/2020

Brentwood Public Work crews are working quickly to clean up following the storm.  The storm that moved through Brentwood Sunday evening left a long list of downed trees.

As you begin to pickup sticks, limbs, and trees at your homes, please note our rules for chipper service and size limits.  If a tree company or handyman helps cut trees, they are responsible for the removal.  Otherwise please place debris at the curb, regardless of your chipper week. We will begin wide spread city wide cleanup asap, progressing as we can. Please be patient and we ask that you do not inundate us with calls; we'll eventually get to all homes, but please do not necessarily expect the chipper route to arrive in your designated week.

Chipper Service Schedule and Rules

  1. Brush must be behind the curb with cut ends towards the curb.
  2. Brush can be a maximum of  eight feet long or shorter and not taller than three feet.
  3. Limbs and stumps larger than six inches in diameter will not be picked up.
  4. Debris that is the byproduct of commercial cutting/trimming will not be accepted.
  5. Leaves and grass clippings will be collected in brown paper bags only. Plastic bags will not be accepted.
  6. Do not stack brush, clippings or other leaves near stationary objects like a fire hydrant, mailbox, utility pole, etc.
  7. Be mindful of parked vehicles in front of your pile during your assigned week.
  8. If your pile is not picked up but you saw one of our chipper trucks either on your street or at your home, please check for door hanger and look at any checked boxes.  You may have violated a chipper rule(s) or... more often than not, your pile may require additional equipment to remove the pile (ie; the grapple truck).

**If a pile violates of any of the rules and is not picked up, residents will receive a door hanger on the flag of your mailbox with a box checked giving a reason why.

Any questions regarding this service or these rules, please contact Jamie Booker with the Public Works department at 615.507.2763
