Water Tank Demolished Successfully

Post Date:11/20/2017

Two abandoned water tanks in the City of Brentwood will be demolished by the end of the month.   The Woodway water tank was  a one million gallon steel tank and was originally constructed and put into operation in 1984.   It was abandoned in the mid-nineties after many system improvements were made.   The demolition of the Woodway tank will be completed on Monday, November 27.  The Mooreland Estates water tank was a 500,000 gallon steel tank and originally constructed in 1970.  It was abandoned in 2010 following system improvements.  The Mooreland tank was demolished on Monday November 20.

Southeastern Tank, Inc. of Lebanon was the company that won the low bid at $81,100.   The scope of work included cutting down the two steel water tanks in panel sections, removing the concrete footing for each tank, removal of site fencing, and removing ancillary items such as valve vaults, and equipment.  The site will then be restored with topsoil and reseeded.
