Brentwood Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The City of Brentwood recently received the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting, The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award presented by The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This is the 23rd year that Brentwood has received this prestigious award.
The Award reflects the commitment of the City of Brentwood and the Brentwood Finance Department to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the award, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as:
- a policy document
- a financial plan
- an operations guide
- a communications device.
A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was presented to Carson Swinford, Finance Director, for his leadership in achieving this award.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award signifies that the City of Bentwood, as a recipient, has pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provides an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.
